Application Requirements & Process

Application Requirements

  • TOEFL Score with 550 / waived if the applicant is teaching in English 
  • Advanced fluency level in English which will be evaluated by USEH consultants in the initial interview screening 
  • Min BS or BA Degree in the area of available placement positions / those who are working at a different position other than actively teaching will be required to have a post-graduate degree of min master’s degree or PhD 
  • Proof of Teaching certification in his/her home country 
  • Verification of at least 2 years of teaching experience 

Application Process

  • Upon deciding to apply for the program, the applicant should present his/her resume to USEH and/or fill out the online application form at the USEH website. 
  • If the applicant is found to be eligible for our programs, she/he is invited for an interview with USEH Consultants. 
  • Applicants who pass the interview and evaluation are then invited to complete an official application. 
  • To complete the official application process, the applicant must submit the required documents, including the application/deposit fee, which is nonrefundable. 
  • The placement process will begin for the official applicants, which will take 6-10 weeks under normal conditions. 
  • Once the participant has secured a position, the offer letter, including the conditions such as hours per week, stipend, etc., will be provided to the participant for review and signature. 
  • In addition to the placement agreement (between the participant and the school), the teacher will be asked to sign an agreement with USEH. This agreement will outline the responsibilities and duties of both parties, the teacher & USEH. USEH will not take further responsibility for any participant who violates the agreement conditions during the program.

Classroom teaching for grades kindergarten through 12 (No pre-K) 

Program Duration & Income

Program Duration 

The program can last from one to three years. 

Monthly Income 

The teacher’s income will be $38.000 USD or higher on a yearly basis, depending on the contract offered by the hiring school. Generally, weekly hours are approximately 40 hours per week. 

Visa Process & Housing

Visa Process 

Participation in the program is possible through a special category designed under the J-1 Bridge USA visa and regulations of the US State Department. Necessary assistance to obtain the J-1 Bridge USA (applying and obtaining the DS-2019 Form) will be provided by USEH International and its partnering visa sponsor organization. To obtain the J-1 Bridge USA visa, each applicant must apply to the U.S. Consulate/Embassy individually. The ultimate decision to grant the J-1 Bridge USA visa is made by the U.S. Consulate/Embassy 

Housing 

Usually, the school provides housing options at the participant’s expense. 

Health Insurance & Travel Arrangements

Health Insurance 

Health insurance for the participant is provided as a part of the program and as a requirement of the U.S. Government regulations for the program duration. 

Travel Arrangements 

Program participants are responsible for their airfare; however, USEH consultants determine the departure date in coordination with the school and the visa sponsor/ government agency.
